Happy Birthday Moon (Landing)!

If it's something you watch or hear or read, this is the general grab-bag for it.

Happy Birthday Moon (Landing)!

C* x30
for the Americanization of the Moon!

(cue drama and flaming over the whole "Moon landing was real/fake" issue)

Today also marks the 30th anniversary of those "Bah, they can put a man on the moon, but..." remarks.
If this last post seems ridiculous, please disregard it. Thank you. ;)

By the way I made two level packs for Boppin' in case anyone is interested...

The moon landing really cheered us up after Carter was attacked by that giant rabbit.

It turned out not to be made of cheese and thus not worth it, and further investigation was pushed down on the agenda by about 50 years.

Also that rabbit is the most awesome thing ever. Sharp... pointy teeth!

Back in the 1950's, Life magazine or somebody like that did this prospective on spaceflight, and some expert or other sagely predicted that it would take humanity about a century from that time to get to the Moon. Well then Sputnik happened and the Space Race became a political thing. Getting to the Moon before the Russkies became just another extension of the Cold War. But once the deed was done and we proved ourselves, the political wind emptied out of the sails and it fizzled out. When I was growing up, we were all mesmerized by the Apollo program. I was in 2nd grade, but stayed up late to watch the landing and Neil Armstrong's moon walk. I dreamed that when I grew up I'd be able to take vacations to Moonbase Alpha. Well, that didn't happen. And at this rate, I'm beginning to think that maybe that expert back in the 50's was right after all ...

Oh, and I'm still waiting for that flying car ...

You know, the Chinese are planning fleets of flying cars as we speak.

I thought that the big obstacle with the flying car thing was that technically they're aircraft, and would need a pilot's license and not a driver's license.
