Gynand? Andryne?

Gynand? Andryne?

Postby Mitsukara » Mon Jul 20, 2009 6:10 pm

So I was rereading early pages of To Save Her when I saw this:
To Save Her #24 - Buttons

Curious about these two gender terms, I decided to look them up... and couldn't find anything on google or Wikipedia at all (except that Gynand is a surname). Where did these two terms come from, and what do they mean? Do they refer to futanari-ism and it's questionably-named (and far less common/well known) opposite "cuntboi"ism? Or something else?...

Just a random curiosity. ^^

Gynand: physiologically intersexual but with a bias toward the feminine.

Andryne: physiologically intersexual but with a bias toward the masculine.

These are made up words, by me.

They're portmanteaus, a mainstay of fantasy and SF writers.

I kind of figured that that's what they meant. I didn't realise they were made up though - shows how close I pay attention!
I know a few people who would fall into either category, IRL that is.
If this last post seems ridiculous, please disregard it. Thank you. ;)
