Interesting how their answer to a biological condition probably resulting from a mutation is psychotherapy. A society in deeeeeeep denial. Seems vaguely familiar somehow....

The round lid is a full circle!

Also, this is quite an early posting.

I thought "lid" was a slang word for "hat."

Incidentally, for any who, like me, haven't read them in a while, the first several pages of the story all make a great deal more sense by now. Like ahhhhhh, that's what she was talking about!

"I love it when a good plan comes together!"
"Then you're really gonna hate this!"

Ahh, mostly-horrible Mega Man cartoons...

That, and your noticing that the last panel in today's strip is the very first panel in which we see Kaye (only from a different camera angle) is exactly what I wanted. You make me happy!

I wanted this whole remembrance to mesh as perfectly as possible with the beginning of the story, so that Kaye is explained such that it illuminates her every action at the beginning, when she was still a mystery. This is also why I have been trying to draw her memory in the same, more simple, lighter look as the very beginning of the comic.

It was not my intent that my art should improve as the comic progressed, that just happens. But it was always my intent to start light, and gradually have the images look darker and darker and more and more like an old film noir movie... to go from light adventure to Maltese Falcon. Somehow, it sort of worked out, I think. Perhaps the improvement in art detail also helps? I'd like to think so.

No kidding? I would have put $20 on you having these strips laid out from the beginning. You imitate your own style so well - which I understand is *very* difficult.

This coming from someone who's most artistic endeavor is macaroni art, however. Bad macaroni art.

Looking at the difference between panel 1 of 002 and Panel one of 294, yeah, the detail is definitely noticeable.

I'd say the word incredible also applies.

Two "Yay"s, one "Hey!" and an essay. Still counting.

Huh. I hadn't realized it before, but Kaye had been telling lies from square 1. Truili clearly doesn't know what Kaye intends to do here.

The first dialogue balloon in #9 takes on new meaning.

And, if Kaye's plan succeeds, the pristine worldplates will be like the proverbial "shiny new Australia."

Is Kaye really trying to stop just the human quantum rain, or is she going for the ultimate clean sweep? :?

Since she just said in that museum flashback that soon she'd be living on a perfect worldplate like the ideal worldplate in the museum display, well, yeah, I would venture to guess that Kaye is trying to make Perfect Trys happen. Remember that Jenny has said that the Krawlni have studied the Trys situation and concluded that in the Trys we know, the Hyperspace Rain and Stormfall go back into infinity, and that Perfect Trys is only hypothetical at the current level of hyperspatial awareness of Trys. Here is the post where she told us this:

Wow, thank you!

My arm and finger numbness are much improved. I still have to be careful, as the slightest pressure on my elbow can make my hands tingle, and having my neck and shoulders in the wrong place can bring it back a bit, but for now... only the right side of the last joint of my index finger still suffers any numbness on an ongoing basis. That is a vast improvement.

Several things helped; chiropracty really did the job. Also, getting away from my mouse helped a lot, as did, obviously, getting a new chair.

I still get tingles and twinges, but I now have hope that eventually, the problem may vanish entirely in time.

Now, if I can only get over this damn cold/flu thing I have....

A friend of mine was having a similar problem, and just got it diagnosed by his doctor. Apparently he broke his neck and never noticed. ^.^;;

He has a small fracture in one of his vertebrae. He draws Nocona.
