I don't mean to be a bother, but the RSS doesn't seem to be... syndicating.

That said, yay for my return coincidentally falling around now!
I still have a bunch of stuff to get caught up on...

Ahh, that sound. I can actually hear it in my mind, just from looking at the image, and the way the that the symbols are placed.

I've noticed something about the modern West. We've lost most of our storytelling traditions. That's likely because we don't really tell stories to each other anymore, or at least not vocally, it just isn't a medium like it is for every other peoples in history. I'm reading this tome on Hawaiian mythology, and a big section at the beginning describes all the different ways that the stories discussed in the book were to be told, with layers of etiquette on the part of the speaker and the audience, regarding timing and everything. There is even two genres, as it were, of stories, and you had to handle them differently. Every time I try to relate a story that's longer than three sentences to even somebody, they'll cut me off or become confused and irritated. They don't do that with television or movies, though. They don't understand on a cultural level, I think.

In any case. Here we go. It starts.

(I need an icon again... what should I use? Hm.)

I get internet access back again, and find - just one day later - that there's a beginning in progress.
Excellent.

I am happy that people are returning to the forums. It had grown a bit quiet.

I know! I obsessively refresh between not paying attention to class (ironically, the class today when I could have learned something... I passed out on my desk due to lack of sleep. Fortunately(?), I was still able to contribute to the class discussion somehow, which just goes to show that everyone else is even more of a glassy-eyed zombie than I am, as usual.), and things have way picked up in the last month.

I noticed you'd been gone for a little while! Pff, there should be free high-speed wi-fi available everywhere in the universe. Barring the inside of really gravitational bodies, like stars and black holes. If you're in one of those, you'll just have to bum some DSL from whatever friendly cosmic entities you can find there.

I believe we're both on dial-up, right? Ugh, I miss DSL. People posting YouTube links everywhere these days, fat lot of good those do me. Here, Mass, have an eternally loading black box. Hooooooray. And how they embed them EVERYWHERE? Don't you hate that? SIGH.

I got them low-bandwidth blues.
