With the eight swords crossed over his back, it doesn't seem like he's going to be the voice of pacifism~

I don't have the Kamishibai version on hand, but I'm quite certain his ultimate attack does grievous violence unto logic and possibility. (It also slices, dices, and makes julienne fries!) I don't remember enough to say that this is a retelling, or coming in at some other point in his travels.

Huh, I could have sworn he had 9 swords (one for each arm, 9 arms since he's half squid, half Octopus). Part of me wants to go back and watch the kamibishi again, but part of me is just content to sit back and see how it unfolds in this retelling. ^^

If I remember right, he has nine, and can perform his ultimate attack that I don't remember the name of, even though it requires ten, just because he's that awesome a swordsman.

If by "kick" you mean "cut".
And by "ass" you mean "bodies".
And by "right" you mean "into ten thousand tiny pieces from which not even Holly Thornbridge (or Mike Ravenswood, for that matter) could recover".

[EDIT: upon re-reading, Mike's biology is distributed enough that, like Schlock, he could survive the entirety of his body being ripped apart; I had thought that perhaps his head contained more specialized organs. Holly, however, would probably succumb to blood loss before being able to regenerate under the same conditions.]

It's the Terrible Twirling Tentacles of Death. His father, a squid with eight arms and two tentacles, all of which can wield a sword, created the technique to cut everything around him, and it included nine of his limbs because there was always one arm left that could not cut itself. Ika Takozushi has perfected the technique and can cut everything including *all* of his arms.

A very risky technique, obviously.

Thoroughness. The technique is supposed to chop up everything in range, and that includes the arms, dammit. Good thing he heals.
