Has this webcomic been completely abandoned?

It looks like it >.<

Hopefully Takuzoshi will come back in another story. Or if the script is all written, perhaps Jennifer could let another artist draw it.

At a guess :? , I think Jennifer's just trying to work out what to do with it now. I take it you read her last news post?

I guess no news is good news... maybe. If she hasn't posted to say "I'm not doing the comic now" then I guess it's still a work in progress.
If this last post seems ridiculous, please disregard it. Thank you. ;)

Oh, I certainly hope it hasn't been abandoned. :( A world without Jennifer's comics and without our intellectual peanut-gallery commenting on every pixel....it's just not the same.

Doe anybody know of any updates on Takozushi or if Jen is going ahead with something else?

Those are absolutely gorgeous, Anna.

But on an extremely distressing note...now the Legend of Takozushi is completely down! What's going onnnn? Even though there haven't been any updates lately I've been enjoying exploring the magnificent work of art that is the website itself. Don't tell me we've lost it forever! @,@

It's all in Jennifers Hand.
Or better to say, in her pen.

As much I do understand it, it seems she's got a writers blockade.
That is not as bad as it seems.

As I wrote before, the Kamishibai episode of Pastel was only a little view in the Pastel Universe, a small excerpt.
But Ika's story was completely told.
Why should she do a remake?
That's the problem, that's her blockade.
That's my theory..., hm..., nun ja...

My point of view is, she should end this story, now.

Alternatives?
1. Do nothing.
That is what happens.

2. Do an other story, work for an other comic.
Wasn't there something with some nice interesting critters?

3. Time for another things before breakfast, I hope that's not impossible, ey?

4. Telling the other stories of and about Ika Takozushi, oh there must be some.

I've seen a lot of japanese samurai movies at the french-german TV broadcaster "arte" in the last weeks.
Some are very poetic, some are very harsh. (Example: "Lone Wolf and Cub" from the early 70ties, original with subtitles, 6 movies. Au weia! Himmel nochmal! :explode: )(In a cruel way, indeed funny and trashy.)
Well, the poetic movies I do like more, there wasn't many swordfights, but with the silent told story, it was easier for me to understand and an exploring of the japanese culture, much more than a wild acting and katana swinging warrior samurai.

Oh, I SO second this! There are still two stories that remain to be told, after all... :)

Another suggestion:
You could use this down-time to consider a clean-up or redesign of your website/s, now that you have some new web-page construction software. You've had the Jenniverse, Accursed Toys and Otaku World sites for a while - see if anything needs updating (any dead links, obsolete material, or just stuff that you don't think you need any more).

A bit of spring cleaning never hurt anyone. [looks around his immediate area] Advice I should probably follow myself, incidentally...

What now?

I am going on a trip!

Sandi has always wanted to show me her birthplace, Lancing Michigan. It's been a thirty year dream of ours - but either we've been too poor, or I've been too fucked up to actually do it. This year, in 15 days or so, we finally do it. Two and a half weeks farther east than I have ever been. I will see lakes and... more lakes, apparently. And the Henry Ford museum. And eat at a White Castle burger stand. On the way, I may see Jewel Caves and Mount Rushmore, because, well, they are there.

We figure it will be our last chance to do this journey, so we had better take it while we can. Before everything goes the rest of the way to hell.

I'll try to make reports as it happens, when we stop at internet-capable locations.

That is what is next for me.

Are you road tripping, or flying it? A road trip that far would be a little rough, but you would see plenty of interesting things along the way. Anyhow, I visit some friends studying up at MSU for their doctorology degrees in Lansing from time to time. Enjoy the trip! If it's something you've been waiting this long to do and it's farther than you've traveled in the past, I'm sure it will be an engaging experience. ^^

Kalamazoo is near there, it's got some stuff worth seeing.

Also check out the new carousel, and the less-new Curious Kid's Museum, in St. Joseph MI, and perhaps Charlie's award-winning barbecue across the river in Benton Harbor.

I have allies and relatives in that part of the world, too, if you would like to meet them. Send me an E-mail and I'll give you their contact info.
