Greetings, fellow beings!

Postby MisterCat » Fri Sep 04, 2009 7:59 pm

Hello there! My name's Joe and I'm either new here or not. I had to re-register, so maybe I'm new here; but on the other hand, some years back I came to this Web site on a regular basis. Why did I stop? I've no idea.

:(

But here I am again - or still, or something. I'm the proud keeper of one copy each of Unicorn Jelly, Volume One and Unicorn Jelly, Volume Two. Jennifer kindly autographed my copy of Volume One and drew a likeness of Uni who, though surely willing, was unable to sign autographs. My copy of Volume Two contains a brave note* from Chou, above her own crystalline likeness.

:D

Now I shall take the liberty of strolling through these forums, to ascertain what's been going on during my lengthy and unexplained absence. Thank you Chou, Jennifer and Uni, for your lovely hospitality!

Welcome back to the Forums, Joe aka MisterCat! Jennifer's on holiday for three days; otherwise, she'd be greeting you instead.

Is there a reason for this?
Hello!

And, "One thing there's no getting by—
I've been a wicked girl," said I;
"But if I can't be sorry, why,
I might as well be glad!"

I like it, Idiot Glee. If it's a problem for you, go see the chaplain. I'm so glad to meet you, too.

Nice! But can I have it in blue? Oh, seems I can! Joy!

Welcome (back) MisterCat!
There are plenty of other kitties on the forum for you to play with, as I'm sure you'll find out...
If this last post seems ridiculous, please disregard it. Thank you. ;)

Hello, Joe, also known as MisterCat! I hope you will have a party of a time here!

We're a colorful bunch around these parts. Bloody strange, actually.

If you were a member of the previous forum, then you must not be green to how we do things; we play nice and only leave trolls black and blue.

In any case, welcome and Suumi Paivaa! ^v^

Not that I don't welcome a new, human, member to these lovely forums.

But the different colours against the backgrounds make it hard for me to read. I have a red/green colour blindness that is really not a problem except in this situation. Black text is fine but start throwing anything brighter up and I have to squint to make it out or highlight it.

At the risk of splintering the thread, this is a website that will allow anyone to check out how a supplied image or website will look to someone with different types of colourblindness.
Vischeck - http://www.vischeck.com/vischeck/vischeckURL.php
It also has some sample images to illustrate how being colourblind might look:

Normal vs. Red/Green deficiency

Now we understand why Idiot Glee can't see this or this against this. ;] It's like spoilertext for the optically challenged!

Incidentally, my stepdad also has this condition.
My mother works in a hospital library, and she used to tease him about it by bringing home the Ishihara plates and asking him what he saw. I'm not really sure why she did this, because he already knew he had the condition; I guess she thought it was entertaining :exasperated: . Maybe I should send this link to her as well...?

EDIT: it's lucky I went with blue then... :D
