Anna, that cat looks tired.

Also the kitten is well. I made some pasta salad for my self (really simple recipe btw*) and uhh watched Maya Deren's Meshes of the Afternoon.

I'm waiting on cheesecake now. Thank you for the b-day wishes.

*Pasta Salad Recipe
- Make some multi color rotini noodles, run cold water over them in the strainer.
- Add chunked jack or mozzarella cheese, summer sausage or salami, chopped olives, and italian dressing (sparingly)
- Toss together
- Let cool in fridge for a bit
- Serve
Hello!

And, "One thing there's no getting by—
I've been a wicked girl," said I;
"But if I can't be sorry, why,
I might as well be glad!"

Seeing "cheesecake" in either sense of the word equated with refinement and elegance kind of makes me giggle. I'm sorry, it's just... hee...

EDIT: To be fair, idiomatic English is, like most idiomatic languages, pretty obscure and complex, to the point where the original meaning of many metaphors has been lost completely. Fun fact: "balls to the wall" does not have the literal meaning that most people probably think it does. It's about airplane throttles.

But that's what I like here, I can learn how to use english, well american english,
the english english is, as much as I learned, a bit different.

And Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag for you also.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

-----------------------

Okay, witness how horrible idiomatic English can get:

HAPLESS FOREIGNER: Are you a very good speaker of English?
CLUELESS ANGLOPHONE: Well,I didn't do all that great in English class in high school, but I make do, I guess.
H.F.: Make? Do? What is it you are making? What is it you are doing??
C.A.: No, no! I meant that I get by.
H.F.: Now you are getting? What are you getting? And what are you by when you are getting it?
C.A.: No, no! What I'm trying to say is that I manage.
H.F.: So you are a manager? How many people do you manage??
C.A.: N-- n--

English also has the delightful property which allows you to take any noun and verb it ...

Don't forget the subsequent renounification of your verbed words!

Edit: That said, it's not THAT peculiar to English. In Japanese, most nouns can be used as verbs by attaching a helping verb (suru). It also allows (encourages, even) the use of verbs as adjectives almost across the board (the equivalent English phrases get rather verbose!). And you can put the two together, even! The phrase "denwa suru hito" (literally, "telephone (noun)" "do (verb)" "person (noun)") converts "telephone" to a verb and then uses that as an adjective describing "person" -- translating it as "the phoning person" does largely the same thing in English, although "the person making a phone call" would be more natural.

Naturally, verbs can be converted to nouns as well, but you can do that in pretty much any language.

...sorry to interrupt the English lesson, but  Happy Belated Birthday Wishes, Kitty Glee! 8)

I been away from the forum too much lately. To apologise for not catching your birthday earlier, I made you a special Late-Birthday-Cheesecake! It's extra special¹, and there's plenty to go around², so please share and enjoy³!

1 By "special", I mean rather old. And mouldy. Attempts to pass off cheesecake as "blue vein variety" may not be successful.
2 Probably because no-one will want to eat something that looks this bad.
3 Just don't eat it, though. Please. Seriously. What was I thinking?! Sorry, I'll do better next year.
If this last post seems ridiculous, please disregard it. Thank you. ;)
________
By the way I made two level packs for Boppin' in case anyone is interested...
