My first spam overboard: qisolu532o

Postby Monocheres » Sat Mar 21, 2009 3:53 pm

[Monocheres' ferryman's pike whacks its first spam-bot off the boat.]

Banned the username: qisolu532o

Now, should I go ahead and delete all it's posts? It's obviously spam...

I dunno, seems like it's actually trying to say something.

It had an interest heuristic, but I'd rather have not read it even so.

All spam should die. Preferably yesterday. Please.

It seems to be quoting someone's memoirs... rambling on about being elected President, racism, abuse at the home, etc.

Maybe it's memoir salad...

And it reported itself, you say?

Lawd. That's the last thing the Internet needs, self-aware Spambots. The first example of spontaneous artificial life, and it's f*cking advertising.

Then again, maybe we could tame one and keep it as a pet? ;]
Sort of a Forum mascot?
We could train it to attack any other bots that sniff around, and take it for walkies across the Interweb!

Folks, when the spam-bots start passing the Turing Test, we're all toast. Hasta la vista, baby...

A typical dog couldn't pass the Turing test, but it's still smart enough to be dangerous.

Hmm, now that you mention it, so's a tse-tse fly. Or a multiply-resistant Staph. aureus. Or an avian influenza phage...

Okay, we're all toast. ;-)

Well, tsetse flies and (known) microbes aren't self-aware. They can't adopt new tactics within a single generation.
