Nixed, this one was a bit exotic, instead of Sichuan or Novosibirsk, the IP tracked to Bangalore this time.

Seriously, it's usually Sichuan or Novosibirsk. @,@

You forgot to ban the bot; it just made new posts to replace the ones that were deleted.

Actually, judging by the profile, it re-registered. I think.

Trying three is free.
But, one thing: This forum is the wrongest, the stupidous place to spam.

Kshama, if you read this, do you know how much traffic is here?
Nearly nothing, 5 views at a good day.
You're to late, 2 or 3 years ago, it was great beeing here, but now, it's a ghost city.
A few of us are the last survivors, holding up the flag, (die Fahne hoch halten), having a cup of hot tea and dreaming of the good old times.
They never come back.

So, Kshama, go to the "Portal Of Evil", there is enough traffic, absolutely perfect for any spam offers.

I think these days it might actually be MORE likely that a spammer will first be seen by a moderator than someone who might have a whelk's chance in a supernova of actually clicking their link.

Spambots have stopped trying to get people to click the links; they're mostly scumming for PageRank now.

But... but robots.txt. No reputable search engine indexes these forums, last I checked. How would posts here affect PageRank at all?

What, you think spambots check robots.txt?

Ooooh, it's sooo sad, but I have to say this, it is useless.
It is absolutely useless!
Spam, here in the forum, that is the silliest idea ever.

Dear Spammer, and dear future Spammers.
Look at the traffic here in this forum, what do you see?
Nothing!
Absolutely nothing!
It is like Sony would place a big advertise campaign in the Sahara desert, waste land, waste money.

Allright, Spam doesn't cost you much, but I wonder if the registration act for this forum is like in the first days, horrifying.
Obviousely no more.
It was a good firewall, buggy, but practical.

So do me a favour, stop spamming here.
And, yes, I invite you to come to Germany, eat some fresh salat with fresh tomatoes and fresh cucumbers.
Hm?

Alas, if only spammers were trying to target the other forum users, they might leave us alone.

Unfortunately, most are trying to scam Google, not us -- trying to make search engines think that we support the site or product being advertised, so that the search engines will give more weight to that site in the search results.

... Which is also completely pointless, last I checked. And just confirmed. No reputable crawler is going to pick up on the spam.

Well, it seems I picked a good time to stop by once again. The spammer in question had not yet been banned, so with my AWESOME MODERATOR POWERS OF AWESOMENESS I did, and erased the offending spammy posts as well.
