It was very nice if I'd click on a link in a post that a new tab opened, mostly...
So it was easy to stay in the forum and see what the link did show me.

And now if I make a simple click on it, I'll leave the forum and have to use the green arrow above to get back.
That's different to the old forum.
It was comfortable, but maybe I'm to lazy too.
(My old age, you know?)

I never noticed! ...I usually middle-clicked to open a new tab anyway. >_> Buuuuuut yeah.

I'd rather like an art forum. I can't quite believe there isn't one. I know there are plenty of users who are in creative fields, and who might like to share their work.
