Waterfalls?

Postby Quaeras » Wed Feb 06, 2008 5:32 pm

Silly Question,

Without going back and reading the entirety of PDH, I can't seem to remember seeing any bodies of water.

Of course, Fuschia had those arabian water collectors on the farm, but those don't show any pools or puddles. (except for here http://pasteldefender.com/049.html)

I was wondering what the effect of the Pastelian light scheme would be on waterfalls. Rainbow's maybe? If not, is the a rainbow equivalent?

Just curious. (^^>

This is Pastel we're talking about. Where would the waters fall?

The rectilands are all pretty flat. No mountains for water to run down. Not even any hills to speak of, really. I would think any such would have eroded long ago from the constant wind.

Even if you had a pool of water right at the edge of a rectiland and let it spill off the side, it wouldn't fall "down" into the airy void. This is because the force of proxikinesion only works directly over the surface of a rectiland (either the Dayland or Twiland surface). Water would just drift off into space, blasted and scattered by the wind.

Do humans in Pastel even know how to swim?
(I can't)

Is it a sport only for the very wealthy?

I suspect that anyone with lo-park experience would be able to quickly work out the basics of controlled motion through a liquid. Subsurface, at least; surface motion would probably be comparatively harder, since it's all about managing buoyancy (which Pastellan humans would have little or no prior experience with).
