Even at 48, I can assume the pose that Virtue is in... though to be fair, only on the floor or on a bed. It isn't that hard.. just try it.
Lie on your back, then begin to roll over onto your tummy. Preferentially roll the upper part of your body, above the waist more than below the waist. If you look carefully at Virtue, you will notice that the spine is not as twisted as you might imagine, because the twist is whole body.
Now I can assume this position, and I am 48, and I am, according to the BMI scale, obese. 5' 11" and 225 pounds.
Admittedly I did do a lot of yoga in my youth, and I have a strong scoliosis to my back. But that said, I do not think the position beyond many, even most people. I do this position sometimes to help get the kink out of my back, when my back goes out.
Try it, lest you become obsessed with 'Virtue's weird twisting motion'. It's not that difficult.
