You can get the demo from http://braid-game.com/
Still costs the same monies for the full version, but at least you can try it out and see if it works for you.

I bought this too, it is fun and the story is really compelling but it is hard. Like, very hard.

Trying to figure out what the story is really about is probably the most fun thing about the game.

I bought it on Steam for $4.99 and I have to admit it was pretty good. I'm glad it was short too since I should be studying for the CPA exam, but this only took up a few hours. Of course, the hidden super secret just go read a FAQ star move is, as ZP said, a bit of a dick move. And I'm pleased that I only had to look at a FAQ twice for actual puzzle play since I was to thick to figure it out.

...I really must apologise for breathing life into this dead thread, but I feel I need to share.

I finally had the pleasure of trying out a demo of Braid on a friend's computer, and realised what everyone else has already worked out long ago (game is awesome sauce).

Came home, set up Steam on my PC, paid for and downloaded Braid, thinking "Finally I get to play it!"

Launch the game - "Braid has encountered a problem and will close down."

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Too late, I look at the system requirements, and then look at what's hiding inside my Frankenputer... Oh dear. Not enough. Looks like I shoulda tried the demo out first. Time to upgrade, I guess!

EDIT: reviving the thread once again... I managed to play this game a little further at ACMI last month. I tried to get one of the secret stars, but ran out of time... and no, I'm not talking about the one that takes two hours to get. Wait, why am I spoilering something that just about everyone knows by now?

Update: Played it. Finished it. Only got one star,not sure if I'll spend the time needed to get the rest. Now, I'll just rewind time back to 2009, back when this was all new and people still cared.

Also, just finished Portal too. It's amazing what you can do once you finally fork out for a new computer, hey?
